These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the GroomMe interview preparation platform, available at groomme.chitrayantra.com and associated mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”), operated by ChitraYantra Technologies Private Limited, Kolkata, West Bengal, India (“Company”, “we”, “us”).

1. Eligibility (Strictly Adults 18+)

The Service is strictly intended for adult individuals who are at least 18 years of age. By signing in, completing onboarding, or sitting an interview, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and possess legal capacity to enter into this binding agreement. If you are under 18 years of age, you are strictly prohibited from using the Service.

2. Purpose of the Service (Self-Coaching Only)

GroomMe is a direct-to-student spoken mock interview practice tool designed to help candidates prepare for Indian industry job interviews across 17 recognized academic streams and specialized career paths.

No Employment Guarantee: GroomMe is purely an educational coaching aid. We do not provide job placement services, employer referrals, recruitment endorsements, or guarantees of interview success.
Decision Support Disclaimer: Mock interview scores (0–100) and category evaluations are generated by automated evaluation models and represent practice indicators only. They must not be treated as formal certification or official professional qualification.

3. Account & Authentication

Authentication is conducted exclusively via Google OAuth sign-in. You are responsible for safeguarding your Google account credentials. We do not manage or store passwords. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Mock Interview Tiers & Pricing

The Service offers two distinct mock interview tiers:

Free Mock Interview: Each verified student account is eligible for exactly one (1) free 5-minute mock interview for life. The free mock grades verbal transcript responses and produces an overall readiness score. Detailed category breakdowns are locked.
Detailed Mock Interview: Students may unlock comprehensive 20-minute mock interviews at ₹199 inclusive of GST per attempt. A verified payment grants one non-expiring detailed interview entitlement, unlocking full 6-dimension evaluation (subject knowledge, problem solving, verbal communication, voice confidence, visual presence, and professional behaviour).

5. Payment, Entitlements & Refunds

Billing Gateway: All payments are processed in Indian Rupees (INR) via Razorpay in full compliance with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) directives. We never store debit/credit card numbers or UPI credentials.
Atomic Issuance: Entitlements are issued server-side only upon verified cryptographic HMAC signature confirmation of the payment.
Refund Policy: Payments for detailed mock interview entitlements are non-refundable once an interview attempt has commenced. If a verified payment fails to grant an entitlement due to technical errors, or if platform infrastructure fails prior to interview initiation, our support team will promptly investigate and credit your entitlement or process a refund in accordance with statutory guidelines.

6. Referral Programme

Eligible adult students may share a unique GroomMe referral link. When a new student first signs in through that link and later completes a verified ₹199 detailed mock payment, the referring student's referral balance is credited ₹19.90 (10%) for that payment.

Attribution: Referral attribution is fixed to a new student's first account record. It cannot be changed later and self-referrals do not qualify.
When a reward is credited: A reward is recorded only after Razorpay payment verification. Unpaid orders, free mocks, cancelled or reversed payments, and duplicate payment records do not qualify.
Referral balance: The profile shows qualifying sign-ups, paid referrals, and the referral balance we have recorded. This is not a bank account, stored-value wallet, or payment service.
Payouts: Withdrawals are not currently available. We will publish payout eligibility, identity/tax information requirements, minimum thresholds, timing, and a payment method before enabling withdrawals. Until then, the displayed balance is tracking information only.
Fair use: We may withhold, reverse, or disqualify a referral balance where we reasonably identify self-referrals, duplicate accounts, misleading promotion, payment fraud, abuse, or a breach of these Terms.

7. Recording, Media Capture & 90-Day Retention

Live mock interviews require temporary camera and microphone capture to simulate realistic interview conditions and assess communication delivery.

Explicit Prior Consent: Before your first session, you will be presented with a standalone recording consent notice specifying data categories and retention limits.
Private Storage: Video and audio recordings are stored in private Cloudflare R2 object storage with restricted Worker-mediated access. Recordings are never published publicly.
Automatic 90-Day Purge: Recorded media files are permanently deleted 90 days after generation via automated lifecycle deletion rules. Text transcripts and summary scores remain accessible in your student dashboard for historical practice tracking.

8. Acceptable Use & Account Suspension (Bans)

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited conduct includes:

Attempting to probe, scan, or breach system vulnerabilities or circumvent authorization checks.
Reverse engineering, decompiling, or extracting platform prompts, algorithms, or API endpoints.
Using automated scripts, bots, or unauthorized scrapers to launch interviews or consume resources.
Creating or coordinating duplicate accounts, self-referrals, deceptive promotion, or fraudulent payments to obtain referral rewards.
Submitting defamatory, offensive, harassing, or illegal content during mock interviews.

Violation of these Terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination (ban). Banned users are blocked from starting sessions or purchasing entitlements.

9. Limitation of Liability & Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, CHITRAYANTRA TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal dispute, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
